On October 9th, 2023, the Medical Superintendent's office and the administration facilitated the inauguration of the refurbished L Ward in the main block of the Vellore campus, as the Unitary Ward for the Department of Endocrinology.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. M.S. Seshadri, the former Head and pioneer of the Department of Endocrinology at CMC, Vellore. The ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. I. Rajesh, Medical Superintendent, and Dr. Jolly Chandran, Mrs. Ann Jerome and Mr. Anand Samuel, who represented the Directorate, Nursing Superintendent and General Superintendent, respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M.S. Seshadri recalled the history of the department over the last 29 years, indicating the presence of the ward and its intricacies down the years at CMC, Vellore.

The refurbished ward is spacious and has 23 beds, including 5 semi-private beds, and is adjacent to the current Endocrinology office.
