The Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism conducts an Intensive Training Program for Secondary Care Doctors in Diabetes Mellitus, consisting of theoretical and practical training sessions spanning 6 days followed by assessment. This training takes place at the Christian Medical College in Vellore.

Overview

Globally, the prevalence of Diabetes is highest in India. This public health burden is estimated to rise further, implying the need for specialist doctors to treat patients with Diabetes and its associated complications. In this regard, the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism has been conducting Intensive Training programs for secondary care doctors in Diabetes Mellitus, in addition to regular academics, for the last two decades.

Highlights

  • The six-day intensive training program includes lectures and interactive discussions on case scenarios by efficient preceptors, and interdepartmental visits through an integrated approach.
  • Extensive hands-on practice of clinical examination skills, including ocular fundoscopy, neuropathy assessment, and demonstration of the various gadgets used in the management of Diabetes.
  • A few clinical assignments are also given, to ensure participants can practice on patients.
  • The program offers knowledge and training essential to set up an Integrated Diabetes Clinic, with emphasis on collaboration with an interdisciplinary team leading to effective management of patients with diabetes.

Accreditation

The course is recognized by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University for 20 CME credit points.

Who can apply: MD General Medicine / MD Community Medicine / MD Family Medicine.

Course Duration & Certification

6 days of on-site training at CMC Vellore. Participants who complete the course receive a final certificate from CMC Vellore.

Candidates who pay the fee without receiving confirmation from the Department of Endocrinology, Christian Medical College, Vellore will only be considered for the waiting list, and won't be considered for any upcoming batches.

As per institutional policy, we do not accept hand payments.
