The Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, CMC, Vellore organizes a Diabetes Educator Training Program spanning 10 days, combining practical and theoretical instruction followed by assessment. This training takes place at the Christian Medical College in Vellore.

Overview

We have been conducting the Diabetes Educator training program as part of regular academics for the last 16 years. The 10-day training includes interactive lectures, discussions and demonstrations presented by efficient and eloquent preceptors. This intensive skill-based training equips health care professionals with knowledge on Diabetes and its management, providing the required experience to support and help patients achieve individualized behavioural and treatment goals.

Course Objectives

• Describe Diabetes, its various types and management
• Medical management and dietary counselling, exercise and lifestyle modification
• Educators' role in professional practice and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Patient education and guidance
• Hands-on training in handling various gadgets and utilization of modern technologies in management of diabetes
• Foot care and footwear in Diabetes
• Setting up integrated diabetes clinics and Type-1 Clinic, with emphasis on the close functioning of the Diabetes Nurse Educator and Doctor

Eligibility

Who can apply: Nurses (B.Sc / Dip Nursing), Dieticians (B.Sc in Dietetics) & Physiotherapists (BPT / MPT).

Method of Selection of Candidates

Once you have submitted the online application, our team will scrutinize your application. Based on your candidature, we will send a confirmation email to you with the details of further proceedings, and we will be in touch with you individually to help in the preparation for the training programme.

Course Duration & Certification

10 days of on-site training at CMC Vellore. Participants who complete the course receive a final certificate from CMC Vellore.

Fee Structure for Candidates from India and SAARC Nations

(India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Myanmar) — Course fee: Rs.18,320/- (Incl. of 18% GST; covers Course Fee, Course Materials, Lunch & Refreshments)

Fee Structure for International Candidates (Excluding SAARC Nations)

Course fee: Rs.22,250/- (Incl. of 18% GST; covers Course Fee, Course Materials, Lunch & Refreshments)

Note: The course fee in USD includes bank charges. The course fee is subject to annual revision as deemed necessary.

Instructions for Course Fee Remittance

Candidates are requested to remit the course fee only after getting a confirmation email from us regarding your application.

Candidates who pay the fee without receiving confirmation from the Department of Endocrinology, Christian Medical College, Vellore will only be considered for the waiting list, and won't be considered for any upcoming batches.

As per institutional policy, we do not accept hand payments.

Mode of Payments

Course fee should be remitted online using the Payment Portal on our website, using digital payment options like credit card, debit card, internet banking, and UPI payments (Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Paytm, etc.).

Or, you may raise a Demand Draft payable to "CMC Vellore Association" and send it to us via post.
